Artisan Natural or Tailored Pocket ?

Lee Foster asked 23rd August 2017

having been disappointed with our last 4 mattresses – Memory Foam, AeroGel, Sprung with Topper we are looking to invest in something that will last us more than 18 months.
I am 6’2″ and 15 & 1/2 Stone, my wife 5’6″ and 11 &1/2 stone. I prefer a firm mattress as have a back problem in the lumbar region, my wife likes something that is cooler and medium firm as she sleeps on her stomach – although with some mattresses this causes her aches in the arch of the back.
We have been looking at the Artisan range and are confused as to the benefits the Natural would offer over the Tailored Pocket, or indeed would we be better considering another mattress?

Can you help or advise please ?
Also – what are your lead times ?

Good Morning Lee,

Thank you for your questions.

At the body weights provided we would match you both to a Medium spring.

The spring is what gives you support from inside the mattress itself.

In regards to the Artisan Naturals and Artisan Tailored Pocket 2000 they both come in feeling medium overall in their comfort layers.

The only difference is that the Tailored Pocket 2000 feels slightly firmer and more supportive due to the construction method used on the springs.

The Naturals is the true medium feel of this range.

Given that you have existing problems with back pain we would always advise to steer clear of any model that is too firm in it’s comfort layers as it will serve to make these pains worse. Old advice readily available online suggests a firmer top layer to aid pains. However, this simply isn’t the case anymore.

As such, I would say that you are looking at the right model with the Naturals.

With lead times we always send our Artisan orders to our factory for production on a Thursday and lead time comes in at roughly 4 weeks from the Thursday that it is sent across.

I hope that this has answered your questions fully but if you do have any further queries then please don’t hesitate to contact me on 0161 945 3757.

Kind Regards, Lee.
