Comparing your mattresses to ones tried from your competitors in other stores
asked 3rd August 2017
I am 90Kg and my wife is only 54Kg. We currently sleep on a firm mattress which my wife hates and I\’ve come to like. We have bought a new king size bed with sprung slats and are looking for a new mattress to go on it.We went and tried a few mattresses in store figured out a split tension mattress worked well for us. The following two mattresses we liked:The Vi Spring Bedstead Distinction Medium/Soft (way over budget)The Somnus Marquis Regular/FirmWe spoke to somebody in your office and the initial recommendation was the Artisan Naturals, though I\’m not sure if that is comparable to the ones above. He was kind enough to explain that the Artisan Bespoke 004 and 002 will provide a more premium feel. Is it possible to expand a little as if we buy from your company we\’ll have to buy the mattress without trying it out.
In regards to the body weights provided, you are definitely matched to a Medium spring tension.
Your wife is borderline between Soft or Medium and as such she could opt for either. If she prefers a softer feel then opt for the Soft spring. Alternatively, if she would prefer a little more support then opt for the Medium spring.
Ultimately, what she prefers the mattress to feel like will determine if you need a dual spring tension or just the one overall tension. The Artisan range can be made in either a dual spring tension or the one overall.
Our Artisan Naturals model is the true medium feeling mattress in it’s comfort layers; I.e, not too soft nor too firm.
Our Artisan Bespoke 004 model comes in feeling slightly softer than the Naturals as it is constructed from 100% natural fibres and materials compared with 85% for the Naturals.
The Artisan Bespoke 002 is softer still as it is constructed using a dual layer of springs. As such this model has a springier and bouncier feel to it, which also provides more of a sink in sensation.
Our advice would to avoid any mattress that is too firm in it’s top layers if there are any existing pains as it will only serve to make them worse.
