What's the best mattress and topper combination
Hi, we are looking for a King Size mattress. After some research, I feel that maybe a separate mattress & topper would be best, for longitivity & durability. I tried out some combined mattresses in Benson for Beds, & Archers in Glasgow, but they haven’t replied with details of GSM of natural fillings/latex composition etc. I’m thinking I would like a Naural pocket sprung mattress with at least 1500 pocket springs, & a 3inch 100 Natural Latex topper, if this is possible. Can you tell me if it would be best to have a firm mattress with the topper for a medium/firm feel, or if a med/firm mattress would be much softer? We are of average build & prefer a med/firm feel. I would also be interested in purchasing a pocket sprung divan base, but am unsure how this wound affect mattress firmness. If you think a different combination of mattress & topper would work, any suggestions are welcome.

I would be very surprised if you receive a detailed response to your query in respect of the GSM. I note that you have not provided your body weight(s), which is key to advising the tension of mattress to choose.

In addition, I would advise that you should wait until you have had any new mattress for at least 30 days before deciding on whether a topper is required, as it may turn out to be an unnecessary purchase.
A sprung base would make a mattress feel more forgiving and is the type of base we recommend with our naturally upholstered mattresses (Artisan range).
