I have osteoporosis in my knee, what would be a suitable mattress

Andrew Brown asked
3rd January 2019

I am 6’2″ and 14 stone and my wife is 5’7″ 11 1/2 stone . I suffer with osteoporosis in my knee and can get pain during the night at times keeping me awake. Currently we have and old memory foam mattress which needs replacing and can be to warm in summer. Neither of us like to firm a mattress, could you please recommend a replacement for us.

Hi Andrew,

Thank you for your enquiry. With the body weights you have supplied, I would recommend a medium spring tension to give you both the correct level of support.

BodyweightSpring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kgMedium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg UpwardsFirm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call)Soft (1.2mm)

For knee pain, we would recommend nothing too firm, soft or medium upholstery depending on your comfort preferences. Depending on your budget, for soft upholstery that have a sink in feel, have a look at either our Origins Comfort 1000 or the Artisan Luxury. If your comfort preference is more of a medium, have a look at either the Origins Pocket 1500 or the Artisan Naturals.

I hope this is helpful and if you would like any further information or would like to discuss the suitability of any of our mattresses please do not hesitate to contact the office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards
