TAKE OUR MATTRESS QUIZ

Being able to afford a good mattress

Jennifer asked
20th January 2017

Hi there
We have been gifted a superking wooden base (Ercol Bosco, Superking) from a relative who no longer wants it. It is a beautiful base and we will be given it with no mattress.
We don’t have a huge disposable income but want to get a decent mattress. They all seem so expensive but we don’t want to buy a cheap mattress and regret it. What are your thoughts, what would you recommend?
Kind regards

Hi Jennifer,

Thank you for your enquiry.

The price of a mattress does not necessarily mean that you are getting value for money. What you need to be aware of is the levels of upholstery in terms of GSM (grams per square metre). In addition, there are different types of upholstery, man-made and natural with the latter attracting a higher price.
