Hi Guys, Planning to buy a mattress called Salus by Breasley……..it is a 1000+ cool touch 20cm deep 50mm slow recovery mem foam….. 1000 indiv pocket springs(equivalent to 1000 pocket springs in a 150cm mattress) removable easy clean cover. reduces pressure points that cause sleep discomfort. temp sensitive. edge to edge support. no turn mattress. then on the internet I found this breasely flexcel pocket 1000 cool sport mattress. How is it different from the Salus above?

Hi Sue.

Breasley is the largest Memory Foam mattress producer in this country.

Their Salus brand is only available in bricks and mortar retail outlets – not allowed for sale on the internet.

The only conceivable difference we can see is in the cover which I must admit is quite appealing and usually the draw for this particular range.

As you have rightly pointed out 5cm of memory foam on a 1000 pocket sprung unit.

They both utilise a Foam Encapsulated unit (no gripes at all – Read Here).

Although we are not the most fervent fans of any Memory Foam mattress, they are one of the easiest mattresses to do comparisons against.

The simple equation is 5cm Memory Foam / Foam Encapsulated pocket springs (1000) and that is all you need to know to hunt out a better bargain.

Know also that the supplier of this memory foam is [likely] from British Vita and the bulk of all Memory Foam mattresses use this supplier.

Know also that Breasley is the manufacturer of many, many own label mattresses.

The Icon range at Sleepmaster for example is the most similar to Breasley’s own Salus range.

Please see the link for the Hybrid range, which counters many of the common issues that are found with memory foam

Hope this helps Sue and please let us know how you get on.
