Hi Chris,

Thank you for your enquiry.

We have provided a link here to an article in respect of spring tensions, which we are sure will be of interest to you. You will note that with your particular body weight, you fall within the medium spring tension bracket.

All our Artisan models have extra firm springs around the perimeter to prevent the feeling of rolling off, although we would not advise anyone to regularly sit on the edge of the bed, as this will have a detrimental affect on those springs over time.

The Artisan 1500 does have a more medium to firmish feel from the top upholstery layers.  However the feel of a mattress can also depend on the type of base that the mattress is to go onto.  If the mattress is to go onto a slatted or solid base, this can firm the mattress spring tension up again in any event.
