Artisan bed advice
Hello, we need to replace an 11 year old Tempur mattress which is no longer comfortable and makes my husband very hot at night. I am 10.5 stone and my husband is 12.5 stone. We need a 160cm x 200cm mattress to fit an existing base. We are both mainly side sleepers but often end up on our backs. We do not like too firm a mattress. Do you have a mattress that would suit our needs? Many thanks,

Thank you for your question.
The size of mattress that you require is classed as a bespoke make and does not come under our 60 day returns guarantee due to it not being a standard size. We can only make these types of mattresses in our Artisan Range which are the mattresses that contain pockets springs with natural fillings.
The mattresses in that range all have different comfort levels obtained from the top upholstery fillings making the mattress feel either soft, medium or firm. From the information provided, I would recommend looking at the first four mattresses in that range being the Artisan 1500, the Artisan Tailored Pocket 2000, Artisan Naturals and Artisan Bespoke 004. They all have different amounts of natural fillings ranging from 50/50 to 100% but do give an overall medium comfort which is what you both seem to require.
At your body weights, I would recommend a medium spring tension which will give you both the correct support. It is the springs within the mattress that give you that support.
As you are both side sleepers, it is recommended not to sleep on a mattress that is too firm as this can cause pressure point pain in shoulders, hips and knees. The mattresses which I have recommended and having that medium comfort, should not give pressure point pain.
