How does the artisan Natural compare with the Vispring Devonshire

Ian Brown asked 10th August 2017

I have been and rested the Devonshire and other Vispring mattresses. The Devonshire appears to be my best option. I am looking for a softer feel and the mattress will be going on either a slatted or solid top ottoman. I have asthma and don’t want a mattress with horsehair.
How does your artisan natural compare?

Hello Ian,
Thank you for your question.
The Vi Spring Devonshire is a soft mattress and has a similar feel to our Artisan Luxury which does contain Horsehair and Horsetail.
The Artisan Naturals does not contain any Horsehair or Horsetail but it has a medium feel in those upholstery layers.  This mattress has 1200g of Bonded British Wool/Cotton, 1250g Polycotton and 1500g of Mohair.  Mohair should not really cause you any problems as this comes from the Angora Goat.
It may be advisable, as you require a soft mattress, to have the Artisan Naturals and to add a nice thick Topper which will then give you the same feel as the Artisan Luxury/Vi Spring Devonshire.
However, if any if our Artisan Range of mattresses go onto a solid base, this will firm the mattress up.
We would need to know the body weights of the persons who will be sleeping on the mattress in order to advise the correct spring tension.  The springs in a mattress are there to give you support.
We hope the above is of assistance to you but please do not hesitate to telephone our Office for further information and assistance on 0161 945 3757.
Kind regards Julie
