Artisan or Not
Hello,I an seeking your advice in relation to a recommendation of the most suitable bed for me.I like a sink in, soft bed that perhaps is bordering on the medium firm, ( if there is such an animal) I am around 14.5 st and 5ft 10. I would have liked a Fusion 4 or similar but a must have for me is a duvet electric overlay blanket for the winter months. In a previous answer to my query regarding electric blanket use in the Fusion type of bed you indicated that you could not recommend the use of an electric blanket in the memory foam/latex type of mattress so unfortunately that seems to exclude the Fusion line.In Nov 2012 I purchased an Artisan Bespoke 002 bed from you and it has proved to be an excellent bed. I cannot recall if we stipulated any specific \’firmness\’ for that bed but I find it very comfortable and would like something similar or even slightly softer.I would be grateful for your views and recommendations regarding the above , thanks.

Thank you for your question.
I note from our records that you purchased the Artisan Bespoke 002 in a medium spring tension, which is appropriate for your particular body weight.
It is possible to use an electric over blanket with our Fusion products and it may well be that at the time of your query, we had not ventured into that area of manufacture. In fact the quality and density of the latex used in the Fusion range mean that using an electric blanket will have minimal effect on the product.
However, you should never use an electric blanket with memory foam. This is because memory foam uses body heat to soften and make it pliable and the addition of a further heat source will only serve to soften it unduly.
If you have never slept on latex before, it would be of benefit for you to try some latex mattresses as they do give a completely different sleep sensation to that of a traditional pocket sprung mattress. Our Fusion 3, which is comparable in feel to the Dunlopillo Royal Sovereign will allow you to sink into the separate topper before reaching the support of the core mattress. As you have already tested the Artisan Bespoke 002 and like the feel of the mattress and it gives you the correct support, if you would prefer something that is slightly softer in the top layers allowing you to sink into the mattress further, please view our Artisan Bespoke 003.
