TAKE OUR MATTRESS QUIZ

best comfort choice

Julia asked

I’m 5ft 3in, around 8 stone 2, and am looking for a softer feel king size bed. I can’t really justify or afford the higher end Artisan Luxury.
What would you recommend looking at, and are there photos of your various headboard styles?

Hi Julia,

Thank you for your question.

At 8 stone 2 we would match you to a Soft spring. At this weight you are borderline between a Soft spring and a Medium spring. However, as you want something softer overall, I would advise you to choose the Soft spring.

The spring is what provides support from inside the mattress itself.

BodyweightSpring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kgMedium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg UpwardsFirm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call)Soft (1.2mm)

As the budget is a little bit limited then I would guide you to our Artisan Naturals model. This is the true medium feel mattress in it’s top upholstery layers, also known as it’s comfort layers. The comfort layers are what you sleep on top of on top of the springs and with this model you don’t sink in too much.

The Artisan range is constructed from a differing amount of natural fibres and materials and as such come in feeling slightly softer than the Origins range, which are constructed from man made and synthetic fibres and materials.

However, choosing a soft spring will soften the mattress down further. You do also always have the option of adding a Mattress Topper to the mattress in order to soften it down even more if necessary. We just advise to try the mattress for 4-6 weeks without a topper to get a true feel for it whilst it is settling.

In regards to headboards if you look at the article here it will have some expandable and clearer photographs.

I hope this has answered your questions fully but if you do have any further queries then please don’t hesitate to contact me on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards, Lee.
