Best mattres for my wifes back
My wife’s height is 5ft 4inch and she is 13st years ago after having our daughter she has had a really bad back in her lower spine, she mostly has to sleep on her side as if she lies on her back she ends up near to tears trying to get up in morning and sliding out of bed as she cant starighten her back up straight away most mornings, matress we have is an old memory foam and i know its no use, im 6ft and just over 16st, but im not bothered about myself just would like some help in getting something that could help her with her sleeping, i dont expect it to stop her pain but i really have no idea what to look for, thanks for any reply in advance

I’m sorry to hear of the issues that your wife is having.
It sounds like the current memory foam mattress isn’t really providing any type of support and is simply exacerbating the issues.
I would guide you towards our traditional pocket sprung mattresses.
With the body weights provided we would match you both to a Medium spring. However, you are almost borderline between a Medium and a Firm spring so if you wanted something a bit more supportive for yourself then you could opt for the Firm spring.

We always advise anyone with existing pains to steer clear of any mattress that is too firm in it’s top upholstery layers, also known as the comfort layers. The reason for this is that it will only serve to make those pains worse. Also if she has now become a side sleeper as a result of the existing pains we would definitely recommend nothing too firm in the top layers.
As such I would guide you towards our Artisan Naturals and Artisan Luxury models.
Our Artisan range is constructed from a differing percentage of natural fibres and materials and as such come in feeling overall softer and cooler than other mattresses.
The Naturals is the true medium feel in it’s comfort layers being constructed from 85% natural fibres as opposed to 100% natural fibres for the Luxury. The Luxury is the softest mattress that we offer in the comfort layers and very much gives a luxurious sink in sensation.
Both models can be constructed with a Medium spring tension in the one piece or a dual spring tension of Medium and Firm if you yourself prefer that little bit extra support.
