Bests bed for someone with bad shoulders?

Joe asked

I have dislocated my left shoulder several times playing sport. Unfortunately the only way I can get comfortable enough to fall asleep is to lie on my left hand side, which creates discomfort in my shoulder. Now my right shoulder is starting to give out on me as well (call it weak genetics). Can you recommend a good mattress that will protect my poor shoulders under my bodyweight? I’ve been looking through your catalogue and the best guess I can make is that the Artisan 1500 would perhaps suit me. I weigh 10.5 stone and I am 6 feet tall. Or maybe a foam mattress would be more forgiving? Thanks!

Hi Joe

Thanks for your question.

Anyone who is suffering with joint pain, usually needs softer upholstery to cushion, rather than create any more pressure.

Artisan Luxury mattress

The softest mattress in the Artisan range is the Artisan Luxury, this is 100% natural fibre upholstery layers and pocket springs. At your height and weight i would recommend a medium tension spring, so that you have the correct support within the mattress, but then the softest top layers, to cushion your shoulders.

The softest model in the Origins range is the Origins Comfort 1000.
