Comparable to Vispring Stowe Superb?

vidabt asked
21st November 2016

Please could you tell me which of your mattresses would be closest in feel to the Vispring Stowe Superb? We tried it out and found it really comfortable; we like a mattress that is supportive, but has that \’hotel\’, luxury feel and soft on top. We have a pocket spring mattress at the moment, and use a thick mattress topper, but would like to invest in something a bit more comfortable. We are 5\’9\” and 5\’7\” and 11 and 12.5 stones. My mum bought a mattress from you a couple of years ago and raves about it!

Hi vidabt,

Thanks for your question.

We understand that the Stowe Superb is made exclusively for John Lewis by Vi-Spring and there are no specific details published in terms of construction and upholstery, particularly in respect of the GSM, which makes any form of comparison impossible.

Having said that, the description of the preference you have, closely resembles the Artisan Luxury, which has soft upholstery layers and is the softest in our Artisan range. This will give that luxurious sink in sensation into the top layer.

Spring tension is determined by body weight alone and at your body weights we would match you both with a Medium spring tension.

BodyweightSpring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kgMedium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg UpwardsFirm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call)Soft (1.2mm)

We’d always advise to try the mattress by itself for at least 4-6 weeks to get a true feel for it. At that stage if you’re finding it too firm then looking at adding a topper. You’re best off checking a company online called Soak and Sleep. Have a look for something like Wool or Microfibres to emulate the cool sleep surface of the Luxury.

I hope this has answered your questions fully but if you do have any further queries please don’t hesitate to contact our office on 0161 437 4419. Our office is open Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm and Saturday and Sunday 10am to 4pm.

Kind Regards, Lee.
