Difference between Resilience 1 and 2 mattresses
I am 150kg and 6ft 5” and considering buying your Resilience mattress range. I sleep mainly on my sides and have had disc issues with my back, but at the moment this is not painful. I am probably described as a ‘hot sleeper’. I live on my own so do not need a zip/linked mattress.
I am trying to compare the specific differences between the Resilience 1 and Resilience 2 mattress to determine what would be most suitable for me. I would be grateful for any assistance you can provide, such as which is the coolest and which has the best edge support? Is there a comparison between the two mattresses on your website? If not, could you highlight the key differences.
I note both mattresses are very deep (Resilience 1 mattress is 35.5 – 37.5cm deep (inc the quilted cover) compared to the Resilience 2 mattress’s depth of 33 – 35cm). If I went with a King Size version of either of these mattresses, what size bed sheet is required to ensure the sheet can be tucked in properly?
Does the Latex Removable Topper simply lay on the mattress or is it attached by some means to avoid it slipping?
The main issue putting me off the Resilience range is the short 2-year guarantee compared to the 5-year guarantee of the Hybrid mattress. Many other manufacturers offer longer guarantees, eg. Hypnos Orthos Latex (10 years), Relyon (8 years), Somnus (7 years) and Sealy (5 years). Why does the Resilience mattress come with such a short guarantee period?

The only difference between the two Resilience products is the thickness of the separate topper. On the Resilience 1 the topper is 7.5cm and on the 2 it is 5cm, hence the respective differences in the overall height of the products. Essentially the core of the mattress is identical in construction, but then toppers are of different construction. The 7.5cm topper is made from Gel infused 60kg density laygel, whereas the 5cm topper is 100% Natural Latex of 70kg density. The Resilience 1 will provide a deeper sink feeling as a result of having the deeper topper than the Resilience 2. Both mattresses will provide and overall medium feel for people of body weights between 20 and 30 stones. The topper rests on top of the mattress and can be removed if required. As far as particular sheets are concerned, you need to look for extra deep sheets, which a number of high street retailers supply.
The toppers are separate so that if there is an issue with comfort outside the guarantee period, you can purchase a replacement without needing replace the whole product.
The guarantee is a basic level and with proper care and consideration, we would expect the product to last much longer. In terms of the guarantees provided by the other manufacturers, it is not possible for us to comment upon those save to say, you would need to check that any of those products are designed to cope with your body weight, as if not, you may find the guarantee to be invalid. The Hybrid products in our range are not suitable for body weights in excess of 18st (114kg).
