Dual tension on a zip and link mattress
Hi. Have had your advice previously regarding a suitable mattress. I am now ready to order but would like more advice regarding the Origins 1500 SK Ziplink. We are upsizing from a Kingsize as obviously there is more room. However due to the weight difference of 11 stone & 17 stone we would require a split 1500 & 2000 spring count.My husband is worried about the ziplink whether it would be uncomfortable to lay on & wondered if a mattress protector would be necessary.Didn’t really wanted to go the extra expense but if necessary would like advice on the “coolest” option.Also is the bed i’ve chosen suitable for our weights & will one mattress be higher than the other being different counts !

Firstly the option of 1500 and 2000 springs in a zip and link set is the most appropriate for your different body weights and will give you both the correct support.

We always advise the use of a mattress protector mainly to preserve the life of the mattress.
As the zip is central to the bed and is set around 1 to 1 1/2 inches below the top of the mattress, it is unlikely that you or your husband will find this uncomfortable.
In addition, I would advise that with the Super King size version you are more likely to lie entirely on you own side and not centrally.
The mattresses are made so that if you have a different spring count, they are of the same height.
