Fidgety sleeping and back ache
I am 5’6″ and 10 stone 10lbs. I am often too hot sleeping, I have developed problems with back ache and as a result am fidgety sleeping. The back ache started with aching every morning – but now wakes me up in the night and endures during the day. I sleep on my back and side. I am pear shaped and wore out our last 2 beds over 15 years from the point of my hip area (in all 4 places on turned mattress).
My husband is 6′ and 13st 10lbs. He prefers a firmer mattress – he sleeps mainly on his back.
Our price range is £500 to £850. I think pocket sprung and natural fibres I have tried the Harrison 6200 medium locally and loved it but worry that its very expensive for a non-turn. The firm was probably OK too – but if we had different sides we’d only have 2 areas instead of 4 each to refresh. We also tried the Hypnos range and the Silk was OK but really I liked the Harrison.
We have a Divan base with a sprung top which keeps separating – but I think would be OK with a new mattress (we can’t afford to change anyway). We have a coil sprung at the mo – because I was so fed up having worn through to the individual springs on our previous pocket sprung – and every time Hubby is still fine & I’m complaining!!
We use a 100% cotton topper.

As you are no doubt aware, the description of each of the mattresses you have looked at is quite vague in terms of the amount of upholstery in each layer by way of GSM (grams per square metre). This makes any comparison impossible, however, given your body weights and budget I would suggest you look at our Origins Pocket 1500 in a King size zip and link. If your husband prefers a firmer feel, his side could be made with 2000 springs.
