Help on zip and link beds

Andrea asked
19th October 2012

Hi Help!

I would like to buy a guest bed for our smallest bedroom and I thought I would be clever and buy a zip and link mattress so we can have a single bed for use and if needed as both, the mattresses would then zip together to stop any movement. I am clearly not as clever as I thought though as I am thoroughly confused about what size zip and link to now get 🙂 Most seem to be 6’6″ whereas standard single is 3’3″ lengths which baffled me!

Could you let me know what I should be looking for please?

I think I have brain burn from looking at too much information. Many thanks. Andrea .

Hi Andrea,

Thanks for your question.

A standard Single measurement is 3FT x 6FT 3IN.

If you wanted those single measurements than you would need to look for Extra King Size Zip and Link mattresses. This would give you 2 mattresses measuring 3FT x 6FT 3IN when used apart and 1 mattress measuring 6FT x 6FT 3IN when used together.

Zip and Link’s are ideal where you might struggle to fit a one piece mattress into the property, where you might struggle to flip and rotate a one piece mattress, where one user tends to disturb the other or where you might often use the beds independently and together.

With our own products, we would need to know your body weights as well as sleeping habits and preferred feel in the top layers as these factor in to any new purchase.

BodyweightSpring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kgMedium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg UpwardsFirm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call)Soft (1.2mm)

I hope this has answered your questions fully but if you do have any further queries please don’t hesitate to contact our office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards, Lee.
