Highgrove Sovereign mattress 2000 pocket sprung review

Lavinia asked
14th November 2014

I am thinking of buying a Highgrove Sovereign mattress 2000 pocket sprung with wool and silk stuffing. I cannot see any comments about this brand on your site… is this because you don’t recommend them?
Thanks, Lavinia >

Hi Lavinia,

Thanks for your question.

As we often find, most retailers don’t disclose how they construct so we therefore struggle to compare with or comment on specific products.

We have 2 pocket sprung ranges ourselves (Origins and Artisan ranges). Both are traditional pocket sprung ranges; The only difference here is the fillings used in the construction as the Origins range has synthetic fillings and the Artisan range has natural fillings. We’d guide you to the Artisan range if there are heat issues during sleep as natural fillings provide a cool sleep surface.

Given the mention of Wool, I’d guide you to our Origins Pocket 1500. This is very much a true medium feeling model in the top layers providing a slight sink but not too much. The very top layer on this model is Wool. We’d need to know your body weights to discuss spring tension suitability but generally, with ourselves, we’d advise the 2000( (Firm) spring once you hit body weights of 17st plus.
