Hi again Jenna,

Thank you for your question.

It sounds to me like the mattress you have at the moment is too firm which is why it is giving you back ache.

At your body weight, you are just coming out of a soft spring going in to a medium spring.   The springs in a mattress are there to support you and that support is dictated by body weight.   I would however recommend a medium spring tension for you as it is always better to have a mattress that is slightly too firm as you can then add a mattress topper for extra comfort layers.  However if a mattress is too soft, you cannot firm this up.

BodyweightSpring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kgMedium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg UpwardsFirm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call)Soft (1.2mm)

We have two ranges of pocket sprung mattresses, our Origins Range which have man made fillings and our Artisan Range which have natural fillings.   All of the mattresses in these ranges can come with a medium spring tension which will give you the correct support, but we would then need to know your preferred feel from the top layers.  Those are all the fillings which are on top of the mattress that give you the comfort.  These mattresses either have a soft comfort layer, a medium or a firm.

Once we have established how you like a mattress to feel when you lie on it, we can then recommend one of the pocket sprung mattresses for you.

Could you please telephone the office to have a chat with one of our Advisors who will be able to assist you in which mattress would be the right one for you.

Kind regards Julie
