Andrew Brown asked

I am 6’2″ and 14 stone and my wife is 5’7″ 11 1/2 stone. I suffer from osteoporosis in my knee and can get pain during the night at times keeping me awake. Currently, we have an old memory foam mattress which needs replacing and can be to warm in summer. Neither of us likes to firm a mattress, could you please recommend a replacement for us.

Hi

Thanks, for your question,

We would generally advise someone with osteoporosis to go for something medium feeling giving a slight sink but not too much and some pressure relief.

Our Artisan Naturals and Bespoke 004 are comparable to the Vi-Spring Regal Superb. Both these models have that true medium feel in the top layers, ideal for yourself. This would be paired with medium spring tension to correctly support your body weight.

BodyweightSpring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kgMedium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg UpwardsFirm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call)Soft (1.2mm)

If however, you would like something softer in the comfort layers I would then advise having a look at something like our Origins Comfort 1000 or Artisan Luxury. Both have a soft comfort layer with the Luxury being the softest overall. Both should allow pressure relief for your arthritis.

I hope this helps if you have any other questions please don’t hesitate to contact the office on 0161 437 4419
