IGel Mattress Bought From Bensons

Andrew Doyle asked
3rd August 2019

Hi I have recently bought an Igel mattress after testing on in bensons for beds. My partner and I agreed on a firmness rating of 3, when the mattress was delivered the first night we slept on it we woke in the morning and both said this feels softer than the one we tested in store. For what reason could that be as we were told to expect the mattress to be slightly firmer at first until it settled. Would it be possible that the mattress has been labelled up incorrectly?

Hi Andrew,

Thank you for your question.

We always advise our customers that any new mattress purchased can feel a lot firmer in the first instance while your body adjusts to the new feel and you allow the mattress to settle slightly.

Usually mattresses that are shown in a showroom are placed on top of a sprung base however, sometimes they can be shown on a platform divan base which will make any mattress feel slightly firmer than it would feel on a sprung base. This could be the reason but I cannot be sure, the best advice I can give to you is to contact the Benson’s store from which you purchased your mattress to see if it is possible that the mattress has been labelled incorrectly.

If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact the office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind regards,
Amy.
