TAKE OUR MATTRESS QUIZ

Is a Coolmax fabric any good?

Georgina asked

Hi, I’m looking for a new kingsize mattress.

I am 9 and a half stone and find my current mattress (about 10 years old!!) which is a Hypnos Orthopedic bed far too hard.

I wondered whether a soft/medium combination of pocket sprung with foam/latex would be a better option.

I tend to overheat during the night and wondered whether one with a ‘coolmax’ type layer would be good.

I looked at a bed in Dreams yesterday and tried a Sealy Geltex Posturepedic soft/medium mattress which felt wonderful.

However it was priced at £1799.00 but they offered 30% off in their sale which would still make it roughly £1300.00.

I can’t help thinking that this is still a bit of a rip off.

Hi Georgina,

Thanks for your question.

Given your body weight, I am not surprised that you have found the Hypnos mattress too hard.

BodyweightSpring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kgMedium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg UpwardsFirm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call)Soft (1.2mm)

What you require is support from a spring unit with comfort layers on top.

As you may have gathered if you have perused our site, we offer two distinct styles of mattress, those with pocket springs and synthetic fillings (Our Origins range) and those with pocket springs and natural fillings (Our Artisan range).

It really does depend upon the overall feel required and of course proposed budget.

Both our ranges are very reasonably priced when compared to others in the market and represent excellent value for money.

Please view the ranges on line, and if you are interested in any, contact our office to obtain further more specific advice as to the suitability for your requirements. You can reach our office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards, John and Ryan.
