Is an Artisan mattress twice as good as the Origins range?

First of all let me clarify the issue with pillow tops. These, as you know, are sewn to the top of the mattress and therefore you cannot remove them to fluff up or remove any flattened areas. This means, that ultimately, the life of your mattress will be considerably shortened. With a separate topper, whilst these can be fluffed, turned and laundered, they are not an intrinsic part of the mattress and when reaching the end of their life, can be replaced at a cost considerably less than that of replacing the whole mattress. Most toppers are secured to the mattress with corner retaining elastic strips.

I note that you are making an assumption that because the Origins Pocket 1500 is approximately half the price of an Artisan Naturals it is going to be half as good or comfortable. The assumption is that twice the price equals twice the comfort/quality. This is not necessarily the case as each mattress has its own distinctive qualities and the consideration of body weights and preferred feel of a mattress are as important as the cost.

For the money, the Origins Pocket 1500 represents excellent value for money and provides both support and comfort to a wide range of body weights.

Before I advise further in relation to the addition of a topper to this or any of our mattresses, I would ask that you confirm your body weight and that of your partner together with an indication of the budget for the mattress and topper.
