TAKE OUR MATTRESS QUIZ

Is a one-sided mattress the way to go for front and side sleepers

Hi T asked
22nd January 2019

We are researching purchasing a Divan set King size , with or without drawers … My wife is a “stomach” sleeper , im a “side” sleeper … Our daughter purchased a Relyon Rapley mattress n bed which we both ” independently” have slept in without issue. I really dont know if a single sided mattress is the way to go ? & our knowledge of the right sort of purchase to make has become confusing ….
I am 61 5″10 & just under 16st … my wife 5″6 & 11st 3lbs ….. Your website is most refreshing and informative , along with the 60 night option i felt it would be worth further investigation .. My budget is around 1k mark … and of course that will limit my options i presume unless i refer back to the “Branded” sector . Please could you give us some pointers

Hi Tony,

Thank you for your enquiry.  We do not recommend one-sided mattresses as you can not prolong the lifespan of the mattress by turning the mattress regularly.

BodyweightSpring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kgMedium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg UpwardsFirm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call)Soft (1.2mm)

With your given body weights, we would pair you both with a medium spring to give you both the correct level of support.

Origins Pocket spring 1500 mattress

I would recommend you look at our Origins Pocket 1500. This mattress has a medium spring tension as standard and has medium comfort layers, which are not too firm for sleeping on your side but not too soft for front sleeping.  The cost of this mattress along with a 4 drawer base would be within your budget at £930 and £850 with no drawers.

I hope this was helpful and if you would like any further information please do not hesitate to contact the office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards
Michaela
