TAKE OUR MATTRESS QUIZ

Do you know Simba mattress

George asked

Hi,
A friend of mine bought a latex mattress from you a while ago and loves it so he recommended me to you guys as I was going to buy a Simba mattress, but now I’m not so sure.
What put me off is the fact they market their hybrid construction using springs and foam but then I found out that they put the mattress in a very small box – surely thes springs can’t be very good if they can be crushed into a small box.
Can you offer any advice? I saw this article on your website, is this what Simba uses? https://johnryanbydesign.co.uk/understanding-beds/cage-sprung-open-coil-continuous-coil-mattresses/

Hi George,

Thank you for your question.

As you may be aware from viewing the details of the Simba mattress, there is little information available regarding the construction etc, although they do refer to a conical spring being used. The picture provided shows springs arranged in rows of alternately upended springs. As such, it is quite difficult to confirm how this will perform and how rolling and boxing will affect the spring. I cannot see that it can be good for any spring to be compressed to enable boxing and this begs the question regarding the eventual performance of the product.

Our latex products are spring free and are made of 100% natural latex which is more breathable and a lot cooler than memory foam.   They also come double bagged and full size for delivery.

In order for me to recommend the correct latex mattress for you, I would need to know the body weights of the people who will be sleeping on the mattress as we only make either a medium comfort or a firm comfort.

I trust that this helps, but if you require any further advice regarding our products, please do not hesitate to telephone our office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind regards Julie
