Hi John and Ryan, I’ about 100kg my wife 60kg. We are finding it very difficult to choose a mattress that suits us both. We are both side sleepers. We both require comfort and support. Recently I tried the Sealy nostromo and liked it but wife thought it was too firm. Problem for me is that if I have a mattress that is too soft, due the weigh of legs and hips, I tend to hammock and get back pain but if I go too firm the I get pressure point pain. Can you recommend a bed that may suit us both? Should we be aiming for higher spring count and a deeper comfort layer?

Hi Alex

Thanks for your question.

What you are looking for is a split spring tension mattress or a zip link option, where each side of the mattress gets a spring tension more in line with their body weight for the correct support.

In the Origins range the Origins Pocket 1500 we can make as a zip link option with one side 1500 springs for your wife, and the other side with 2000 springs to give you that firmer feel.

1750gsm Very Soft Polyester
2500gsm Polyester Pad
3One Inch Foam Insulator Layer
41000 Spun Bond Pocket Springs

In the Artisan models we can do a medium /firm split in the one piece mattress, so you don’t have to have this model as a zip link. The Artisan 1500, Artisan Tailored pocket, Artisan Naturals and Artisan Bespoke 004 all offer a medium feel in the upholstery layers so not too soft or too firm and will be fine for anyone who sleeps on their side so as not to create any extra pressure.

Kind regards,

Amy.
