Debbie Wilson asked

I’m looking for a good quality mattress. I weigh 17stone and am 5feet 10inches tall. My current mattress is a Sealy Posturepedic silver range. I would say it is medium firmness but its needing to be replaced. I suffer from chronic low back pain and sometimes neck pain too. Can you help me choose please. There as so many !! Thank you.

Hi Debbie,

Thank you for your enquiry.

With your particular body weight we would suggest that you ought to be looking at a firm spring tension/feel mattress. The reason for your lower back pain is likely to be that the medium tension mattress you have at present is not providing the correct level of support for your body.

The choice would depend upon whether you wanted a mattress with man made upholstery or would prefer natural upholstery. Please view the Origins Pocket 1500, which can be selected with 2000 spring making it firmer. This comes with man made upholstery. If, on the other hand, you would like natural upholstery, the products in our Artisan range may be more suitable. Please view the Artisan Naturals or Artisan Bespoke 004, both of which can have the spring tension selected to suit and both of which contain natural upholstery, with the Naturals having 85% and the 004 having 100%. Notwithstanding the difference in the level of natural upholstery, both will provide the same overall feel when selected with a firm spring tension.

We trust that the above is of help to you, but if you require any further advice or guidance, please call our office on 0161 437 4419 and speak with one of our advisors.

Kind regards.
