I weigh 122kgs ( 19stone 8oz ).Having read info on your website I am now uncertain what fitness level I really need.I have tried firm ( ortho type ) beds and my back suffers as a result.I have found Premier and Holiday Inn beds very comfy and was drawn to your medium springs/” title=”pocket spring”>pocket spring bed that contains 1500 springs. You appear to advise something firmer. Help!

Hi Michael,

Thanks for getting in touch.

At your weight, you will need more support than that provided by the medium spring gauges of the Premier inn and Holiday inn mattresses.

They probably feel comfortable for short term sleep but in the long term we would advise against these models as the spring unit is only built to accommodate a 17-18stone sleeper maximum weight.

Please have a look at our Resilience 1 mattress which is build specifically for people 18 stone plus and has a soft laygel topper.

This prevents the hard feeling that you often find with orthopaedic mattresses, we have a detailed article here on why heavier sleepers need firmer support but not necessary firmer comfort.

If you’re looking at something in our Origins starter range then the Origins 1500 but in a 2000 spring count would also be suitable.

If you need any more help please give our friendly team a call.

Kind Regards Gary
