Mattress comparison

Hello
I was looking at ordering the Angelic (details & link below) from Warren Evans when I cam across your site. They will sell it to me in a super king for £1,245 (earlier sale price). I was interested in what you would compare it with from your range and whether you thought the offered pricing was fair given the spec.
Angelic:(https://www.warrenevans.com/mattresses/pocket-sprung-mattresses/angelic-mattress/)- £1,245
1 x 1250gsm White bonded Cotton, Filling 1x 250gsm Wool/Silk/ Cashmere
Pocket springs are calico
Hand stitched sides
I’m also looking for a kingsize mattress for the spare room and was considering the mattresses below from Warren Evans; again, I would appreciate your view as to where they would compare with your products and whether the pricing was fair.
Superior (https://www.warrenevans.com/mattresses/pocket-sprung-mattresses/superior-mattress/):- £645
GSM sleep surface- 1250gsm Bonded Cotton plus 450 gsm Orthofirm polyester, Non sleep surface- 350gsm polyester
Pocket Springs are machine spun bonded
Hand stitched sides
Balmoral:(https://www.warrenevans.com/mattresses/pocket-sprung-mattresses/balmoral-mattress/)- £695
GSM-1 x 850 Polyester plus 1 x 300gsm polyester
Pocket Springs are machine spun bonded
Hand stitched sides
In both instances, I want to get the best for my money and have up to £1,400 for the super king and up to £700 for the King size – your recommendations would be appreciated.

Hi Andy,

As you will be aware from the descriptions provided, there is not an awful lot of upholstery within any of the Warren Evans products, and none are comparable in any way to any of our products, as I understand you have been advised previously.

Whilst you have provided an indication of your budget, there are no details of your body weight(s), which make it difficult for us to suggest an appropriate product from our ranges.

How much to spend on a double mattress? What can I expect for my money?
Under £500Will not get you much at best a 13.5 gauge open coil/cage sprung with a thin polyester layer or a solid foam mattress.
£500Entry level spunbond springs with some form of synthetic upholstery. Usually one sided mattresses.
£750The beginnings of a basic pocket springs unit with 800 – 1000 count. No substantial amount of filling other than foams and synthetic materials. Two sided models.
£1000Should get you away from most low ranges and into the mid-range pocket spring models.
£1250Should get you a decent pocket sprung mattress with some Natural Fibre content.
£1500Should get you many manufacturers mid-range models with Natural Fibres
£1500-£2000Should get you a Hand Made primarily Natural Fibre Quality Mattress
£2000+You should expect 100% Natural Fibres and Traditional Hand Made Construction Method.
£5000+A Bespoke Hand Made Sleep System, High-end Spring Units & Featuring the Worlds Most Luxurious Natural Fibres.

Having said that we do not make comparable mattresses to those mentioned, our Artisan range is made with natural upholstery, this being the only similarity to the Warren Evans items, although the prices may exclude a purchase. Please view the Artisan range and if you require any further advice, please call the office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards Gary
