TAKE OUR MATTRESS QUIZ

Mattress for different bodyweights

Arlene asked
21st April 2012

Hello, I am looking for a new king mattress and base for myself and my partner. I weight around 9.5 stone and my partner is around 15 stone. He often complains that mattresses are not firm enough to support his weight but doesn’t like the idea of a dual tension mattress that you may recommmend to accommodate both of us (incase we swap sides or roll over etc). What mattress would you recommend for us that would be firm enough for my partner but comfortable enough for me too?

(I must say I have never had any problems finding a bed too firm or too soft in the past!). Our budget is a maximum of £700 for a king size mattress. Many thanks. .

Hi Arlene.

Thank you for your question.

Please take a look at our Origins Pocket 1500 in the 2000 spring option (firm support).

Origins Pocket spring 1500 mattress

The Pocket 1500 is our best selling made in the UK man made and natural fibre mattress. Offering a quality 1500 pocket-spring unit and layers of fillings for a medium overall feeling.

This range comes in two spring counts either 1500 or 2000 and your bodyweight will dictate which one will be suitable for you. The main difference between the two models is based on the amount of support it gives. For people of a lighter bodyweight there is no need to go for the 2000 spring count. People of a heavier bodyweight will require the extra support the additional 500 springs will give.
