Mattress suitable for a sprung slatted base

With the body weights provided you both fall under a Medium spring tension.
The spring tension gives you the correct level of support from within the mattress itself.

You can then ignore this and concentrate on the top upholstery layers, also known as the comfort layers.

Being side sleepers, we would always recommend that you don’t opt for a mattress that is too firm in the comfort layers as it can cause pressure point pains in the usual offending places such as knees, hips, shoulders etc.

I would advise that you look at our Origins Pocket 1500; this mattress is not too soft and not too firm, it’s very much a medium feeling mattress in it’s comfort layers.

Alternatively, our first 4 models in our Artisan range are also very medium feeling; not too soft and not too firm.
By comparison, our Artisan Luxury is the softest mattress that we offer.

The Artisan range, being constructed from natural fibres and materials, also are much cooler mattresses so heat retention would be no issue here.

Comfort is very subjective so what is ideal for one person isn’t ideal for another. It very much is all about personal preference.

Our pocket sprung mattresses (Origins and Artisan) can go on to a slatted base. We would just advise that you place an old duvet over the slats just while the mattress settles.
