Which mattress for us now
Hi. We currently have an ancient slumberland orthoposture 1100 series mattress. It is definitely time for a new one! My husband is quite taken with the simba/ eve hype but I’m not so convinced! I have slept on a Tempur mattress which I found comfy but a bit soft and my husband got v hot! I like something that offers a good medium to slightly firm support (hence my inclination to stick with pocket sprung), my husband errs more on the side of just medium support but we’d still like a mattress that has that slight sinking feel when you first get in! We have 3 kids who often find their way into our bed so we move move around a lot during the night!Budget wise, we’re aiming for around £700, happy to look at mattress and topper combos if necessary… Am I asking the impossible or is there a mattress out there for us?I have done so much looking and am beginning to get a bit bamboozled!Thanks so much for your time

Any mattress with ortho in the names tends to be on the firm side and without knowledge of your body weights, we are unable to confirm if this would be right for you. We note that you have tried the Tempur, but your husband gets hot, which, unfortunately, is the downside of memory foam as it tends to be very heat retentive. We are unable to confirm whether the Simba or Eve would be appropriate as this is something you should seek the advice of from the specific retailer.
As far as a product from our ranges is concerned, your budget limits the choice you have. We will provide advice based upon a king size and assumption that you are both of average weight (10-16st). Please view the Origins Pocket 1500, which has a standard medium tension spring unit together with man-made upholstery providing an overall medium feel. Alternatively, the Origins Pocket Reflex 1000 may suit as this will have the same spring unit as 1500, but has a slightly firmer feel due to the layer of reflex foam contained therein.
