TAKE OUR MATTRESS QUIZ

Mattresses for 3 year olds

Samantha asked

Hello,
I’m just after a bit of advice. I have been given a brand new single metal bed frame for my son, whos nearly 3yrs old. He has hypomobility in his joints, so was thinking of a memory foam mattress for him. Is a memory foam mattress suitable for a metal bed frame? I have a memory foam myself but i have a divan bed.
Thanks,
Samantha

Hi Samantha,

Memory foam mattresses are very heat retentive and they take some time to return to shape meaning that when you want to move in bed it is like climbing out of a hole.

I assume that the metal bed frame you have has a slatted base and this is also not ideal for memory foam.

Ideally, you should look at a pocket sprung mattress with soft comfort layers.

Please view the Origins Comfort 1000 on our site and then call our office for more specific advice as to the suitability of this product for you.

Kind Regards Gary
