TAKE OUR MATTRESS QUIZ

why do mattresses have grade

Kenneth Buchan asked

I note that all of the mattresses you advertise require that the client specifies the grade he/she is prepared to accept and all of these basically seem to relate to mattresses that have previously been returned and have sustained varying degrees of damage etc. This is perhaps a silly question, however do you not sell mattresses which are brand new and have not been returned/damaged etc?

Hi Kenneth,

Thank you for your enquiry on our website. It would appear that you are viewing the products in the outlet section of our site.  In our Outlet section, you will find a selection of mattresses that have been returned to us under the ’60 day love it or return it’ guarantee.  These mattresses have been inspected and graded accordingly.  We can not guarantee to have a mattress available that is suitable for your needs.  The grading table below will tell you the worst condition any of our returned products will be, although most are a lot better. Although the products on the Outlet are a second-hand product you will still receive the standard ’60 day love it or return’ it guarantee as well as the full manufacturer’s warranty.

GradeDiscountDescription
B20%Will have been used by a customer and returned under the 60 night love it or return it guarantee, it may have a few marks from transit and courier handling.
C40%Will have been used by a customer and returned under the 60 night love it or return it guarantee, it will have quite a few marks and could even have a small tear, nothing detrimental to the life or use of the mattress.

If you enter the section headed mattresses, this will allow you to select products, which are all hand-made to order and are brand new.  We would need your body weight(s), preferences and budget to be able to recommend a suitable mattress from our Origins and Artisan ranges.
