TAKE OUR MATTRESS QUIZ

New bed choice

Elizabeth Knox asked
2nd May 2017

Shortly my daughter is flying the nest and moving in to her first flat. I came across your website and we have decided that an ottoman bed would be ideal as she can store her bedding and towels etc in there. Thinking about a king size, but no sure if to get the origins comfort 1000 or 1500 mattress.
She will be sleeping alone (hopefully!!), so will tend to favour one side more. I think a double is fine as she is only used to a single bed, but husband thinks go big.
If a mattress is mainly only getting used on one side will that be ok?
Will order once we have an official date.

Hi Elizabeth,

Thank you for your enquiry.

The most important piece of information needed when advising on a mattress is the body weight of the people using it. This is what would determine the spring tension/feel required and all the mattresses in our Origins range have a standard medium tension spring unit accompanied by different levels of man made upholstery.

The Origins Comfort 1000 has the softest layers of upholstery in that range meaning that is is suitable for people between 8-10st and will give an overall soft feel. The Origins Pocket 1500 on the other hand has upholstery which will provide an overall medium feel. Both these mattresses are double sided allowing for turning and rotating, which will spread the wear and tear and prolong longevity.

Before placing an order, we would suggest contacting our office on 0161 437 4419 to provide details of your daughter’s body weight and also to advise upon the access available as the Origins mattresses are not flexible.

We trust that this helps, kind regards.
