New spare mattress
We have a king size bed – metal and about twenty years old – which is in need of a new mattress. The base is slatted. We do not wish to spend too much on this mattress as we are about to buy zip and link for our old age. This bed will go into the spare room so I would like it be comfortable for our guests. The mattress we have at present is very old – orthopaedic = and far too hard. Could you recommend a medium mattress for this bed?

Bearing in mind your intention to purchase a Zip and Link set for yourselves, we would suggest that for your guest bed you look at products in our Origins range.
The models we would suggest are as follows;
The Origins Comfort 1000, which has a standard medium spring tension with softer upholstery layers.
The Origins Pocket Reflex 1000, also with a medium spring and a slightly firmer feel with a layer of reflex foam.
Finally the Origins Pocket 1500 with a medium spring and providing and overall medium feel.
