Old Millbrook

Steve Fisher asked
6th January 2017

Hi we have an old Millbrook royal sovereign 1700 pocket. I am male weight 13’3 height 5’9″ my side firmer comfort level. My wife weight 10’4 height 5’4″ softer comfort level. Both initial side sleepers. What would you recommend, the more I read the more confused I seem to get. I tend to think my side is too hard while my wife thinks hers is too soft as she has trouble with her hips. I just ache with old age being 61 and she is 56. Don’t want the cheapest although not flushed with money. I tend to lean to the traditional construction and my wife to the hybrid. We have a property in Spain and she seems to sleep ok on a rock hard blanket trip bed with the merino wool on the top personally I can’t see there much good as they are really light but there you go. Any advice would be appreciated as we just want to get it right.

Hi Steve,

Thank you for your enquiry.

It is not possible for us to do any form of comparison to your current Millbrook product as there are no published details in respect of construction and upholstery in terms of GSM (grams per square metre) available.

With your particular body weights we would recommend a medium spring tension/feel mattress. In respect of our products, please view the Origins Comfort 1000, which has a standard medium spring unit with softer man made upholstery layers, for side sleepers, but also comfortable overall due to the spring unit. Alternatively, you could view the Artisan Luxury, which can have the spring unit selected to suit and contains natural upholstery.

Of the Hybrid range, the most suitable in terms of providing medium support is the Hybrid 4, which comes with a separate 7.5cm Gel infused topper to provide that extra comfort layer.

We trust that the above helps, but if you require any further advise or guidance, please call our office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind regards Julie
