I have osteo artritis in all my joints and suffer from severe backache. I also have osteoporosis. I wake every morning in severe pain and can feelthe springs in my orthopaedic mattress. I hate it.it’s on a slatted base but I think the slats are too far apart but that’s all it came with. I am 5’4″and weigh 12st (or at least I did before Xmas and the goodies got eaten. I have not been back to my slimming club since then and may have put on some (oh the shame!!!)please could you advise on a bed before I kill my children for moaning at me about it.

Hi Anne

Thanks for your question.

The problem you have at the moment is that your current mattress is much too firm for you. At your height and weight a medium tension spring is more than supportive.

Also, anyone suffering from back and joint pain doesn’t want the top layers of their mattress to be too firm, they need something a little softer to sink into, so it doesn’t create any extra pressure.

I would recommend you have a look at the Origins Comfort 1000, and the Origins Pocket 1500 mattresses in our Origins range. The Origins Pocket 1500 has a medium feel in the top upholstery layers, and the Origins Comfort 1000 is just a little softer.

Artisan Tailored Pocket sprung 2000 mattress

In the Artisan range, you could have a look at the Artisan Tailored Pocket, Artisan Naturals and Artisan Bespoke 004. These 3 models all offer a medium feel in the top upholstery layers with varying degrees of Natural fibres and spring units. You would have any of these models again in a medium tension spring.

If you require any further assistance please call the office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards
