Problems with John Lewis Yorkshire Wool mattress

First of all I must advise that it is impossible for us to provide a recommendation between the two mattresses you refer to as there are no details of the upholstery layers by way of GSM (grams per square metre) provided in any of the literature available from John Lewis.

 

What I can say is that the Yorkshire Wool mattress is indeed a two sided mattress enabling turning and rotating, which makes this mattress a better option than the one sided Egyptian Cotton mattress, from a lifespan viewpoint. We always advise to choose a 2 sided mattress as this means, as part of correct care and maintenance, that you can flip and rotate it to allow even distribution of wear and tear as well as even settlement of all fillings across both sides of the mattress.

 

For your assistance, I would advise that the feel of the mattress will be affected by what type of base it is on and I note that you have it on a true edge sprung base. This base will have an effect of making the mattress feel medium as sold. However, it could be that, given your body weight, a mattress with a soft spring tension is more appropriate.

 

Our own Artisan range is the range that we compare with Vi-Spring that can be found in stores such as Furniture Village, Harrods, House of Fraser or And So To Bed. John Lewis have their own Vi-Spring models and their own construction methods so we have nothing to compare with unfortunately.

 

 

The Artisan range isn’t a turn with the seasons range but the natural fillings used in the construction provide a cool sleep surface. The Luxury is the softest mattress we have in the top layers, the Naturals is the true medium providing a slight sink but not too much and the Bespoke is the firmest in those layers with no sink at all.
