Problems with Somnus Concordia mattress
Hi, we’ve recently bought a somnus Concordia moneta in firmer. Big mistake ….and a costly one too!
I can’t sleep on it it makes my hips and shoulders ache so after spending £1000 on a mattress we need to buy another one….we have tried talking to Somnus and barker and stonehouse and there is no compromise to be had in resolving our suitability issue. My husband is 6’4 and roughly 13 stone, I’m 5’6 and 10 stone. I like a soft mattress that I can snuggle in. What should we buy?
And do you know anyone that wants to buy a king size somnus lol Thank you >
Hi Michelle, I’m so sorry to hear you’ve ended up with a painful mattress purchase.
I’d never recommend a firm spring or tension for your weights, unless you like a punishingly firm rest surface!
You have two options.
You could try adding a topper to soften the top layer, but if the spring tension is too firm it will never resolve this.
It also may make the bed ‘ridiculously’ high which may require a jump or ladders to get onto.
If you like a soft mattress you would be better either looking at our Origins comfort or Artisan Luxury both soft in the top layers.
The origins comfort is from our synthetic fibre range, the Luxury is very much a traditional 100% natural soft and enveloping top layer mattress but is £1000+.

I could do with some help on your budget and to understand how you ended up with such a firm mattress when you want a soft feel?
