Recommended mattress to keep cool
My husband and I both like a firm and cool mattress and wondered which one you would recommend for us. He weighs 14 stone (6ft) and I weigh 7.5 stone (5ft). We have and spring slatted bed base with 3cm between the slats.

The information you’ve disclosed leads us to our Artisan range of mattresses. These are traditional pocket sprung mattresses constructed with natural fillings. Those natural fillings are what provide a cool sleep surface; Ideal for anyone who identifies as a hot sleeper.
At your body weights you would need a split tension; One half Soft for you and the other half Medium for your husband.
The firmest mattress that we retail is our Artisan Bespoke. This mattress has no sort of sink into that top layer whatsoever.

That mattress is fine to go on to that slatted base as the gaps are smaller than 3″. What we do advise though is to just place an old duvet on top of the slats to pervent indentation and damage.
