Resilience 1 Questions

So looking at the Resilience 1 model, it’s a foam construction which isn’t normally something I would tend to immediately jump to, but you’ve recommended it based on our circumstances, so some questions come to mind.
* Being foam, I understand heat can become an issue – is this an issue with this mattress? Is it breathable and cool? We tend to be hot sleepers who toss and turn
* Does the mattress sink like memory foam mattresses do, or is it a well supported mattress?
* How is the edge support? From my understanding foam mattresses tend to struggle to be strong by the edge which reduces the amount of mattress you can realistically sleep on.
* Is this mattress suitable for a wooden bed with slats?
* How does this mattress compare to the new bed in the box style of mattress, such as emma or leesa which are also all foam?
* The warranty seems to be quite low compared to other mattresses you sell in this price range at only 3 years, why is this? Are you not confident on the longevity of this mattress?
* What are the differences between Resilience 1 and Resilience 2? Is it that the 2 has Natural Latex? Is this a better option that the synthetic latex of the 1st for heat?
Thanks

Hello,

Thanks for your questions.

Heat tends to be more of an issue when it comes to memory foam. Memory Foam relies on heat retention in order to adapt to your body movements. Our foams will give a similar sink in sensation to Memory Foam but without the heat issues associated.

The Resilience range is a very firm foam core mattress as these are designed for the heavier sleeper.

There is no edge support where a foam mattress is concerned; This only takes place in a pocket sprung mattress such as our Artisan range where they are constructed with a firmer spring around the outside edge.

This mattress can go on to a slatted base as long as the gaps are no bigger than 3″. If they are then you will need to place some standard sheets of MDF, plywood or pegboard down to protect from indentation and damage.

We can’t draw any comparisons, unfortunately, to mattresses in boxes as we don’t construct anything like it. Logically, I couldn’t see how a mattress in a box could provide a decent level of support if it has the flexibility to be folded into a box.

The 3 year guarantee is a standard guarantee – With correct care and maintenance they can last longer. The toppers being completely detachable for example can be flipped and rotated meaning that you can increase the lifespan of the bed. Please see our article here on our care and maintenance guidelines.

The main difference between the Resilience 1 and Resilience 2 is the topper that they come with. The Resilience 2 is the firmer of the 2 models having the Latex Topper whereas the Resilience 1 is slightly softer having the Laygel Foam topper.
