Serious allergy to horsehair – mattress questions
I am seriously allergic to horses.
However, whilst looking at mattresses, I mentioned this to the sales assistant.
He remarked that the horsehair is washed thoroughly and it is the oils, etc from the horse’s skin which causes the allergy.
Maybe we need to consult an allergy expert in order to be sure.

We would suggest that before embarking on the purchase of a mattress, you should consult an allergy expert as the comment that it is the oils that cause the allergy has been made by an unqualified individual. It would always be safer to seek expert advice in this case.

This mattress very much has a true medium feel in the top layers providing a slight sink but not too much. We would need to know your body weights in order to discuss suitability;

Similarly, it could be that you need to look at somewhere like Allersafe online to purchase a mattress encasement. A mattress encasement zips all the way around the mattress and protects against allergies but definitely speak to an allergy expert first.
