settling in period for a new mattress
Does a new 5 foot mattress normally arrive measuring only 4 ft 8 inches, on the understanding that it will “spread” or “settle” after a few months to become 5 feet?

Thank you for your question.
A standard King Size mattress measures 4ft 6″ x 6ft 3″ (152cm x 198cm).
This can differ ever so slightly with an industry tolerance of 2cm short or 2cm extra in the width or length.
On top of that, a natural fibre filled mattress will settle over time and it will “flatten” slightly filling out a bit more.
