side sleeping hip pain
I’m a side sleeper, 5’11” and 13-14 stone. I’ve suffered lower back pain on and off for many years but am otherwise healthy. I had a foam mattress for about 7 years which worked well for a time, but the foam became softer and increasingly uncomfortable. I’ve tried the Leesa (much too hard) and Casper (unpleasantly soft and squidgy) and currently have a Bruno. The Bruno seems the best so far but I find it a bit hard and get hip pain if I lie on one side too long – I usually have to switch sides many times each night. I did try a 5cm latex topper (density 60kg) on the Bruno for a while but found it far too soft. I was wondering if the Fusion 3 would be the best option. Can you advise?

From reading your question, it does seem that the mattress that you have at the moment is a little too firm for you as you are experiencing pressure point pain in your hips.
Our Fusion 3 mattress is made from 100% natural Latex and at your body weight, would give you a medium support. The Mattress comes with a separate Latex Topper which allows you to sink into the Topper before reaching the core mattress for that natural support.

As the mattress is made of 100% natural Latex, this does need to go onto a solid base. The reason for this is that if it goes onto a slatted base, the Latex would form between the gap in the slats. As the mattress is natural Latex, this is breathable and a solid base is not going to cause any problems. The mattress and Topper need to be turned and rotated on a regular basis which will then ensure that the whole of the sleep surface is being utilised and also prolongs the life of the mattress.
The mattresses in our Fusion Range do have a similar feel to Dunlopillo mattresses and you could perhaps go and try the different mattresses to see which of them suit you best.
