Suitable matrress

The sag in the centre could be as a result of the base that your mattress is on. If it is a slatted base (sprung or flat), those tend to have a central support bar, which can cause either a ridge or a sag to appear in the centre of the mattress. We always advocate placing some form of barrier, usually thin (3-5mm) MDF over the slats to provide the mattress with a uniform surface upon which to sit and prevent ridging occurring as a result of the mattress dipping into the gaps between the slats. This will also help eliminate the sage that you have and may mean that you can use your mattress for longer before having to purchase a new one. If your base is not slatted, it may well be that the mattress has in fact failed and it may be worth seeing if there are any remedies available via the guarantee provided with the mattress. We do not recommend memory foam mattresses for the reasons detailed in this link.

If you have to buy a new mattress, we would suggest that, with your particular body weights, you ought to look for a mattress with a soft spring/feel for you and medium for your husband.
