Is Tempur heat generating

Chrissi asked

The Tempur cloud sounds perfect for me but I have heard that memory foam is hot. I get too hot at night very easily, is it likely to make me too hot?
I am interested in Tempur as I have hip and shoulder pain, am 8 stone so need something that gently supports. My current mattress does not support my waist when lying on my side. Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated please.

Hi Chrissi,

I cannot provide an opinion as to how the Tempur Cloud will perform, heat wise, although I can confirm that memory foam itself is renowned for its heat retention. Memory foam as a product softens with heat and the heat generated by the body enables it to perform, but that heat is not dispersed, rather it is reflected back towards the source.

We do make a mattress with memory foam as a constituent part, however, it is a 6cm layer with a 5cm layer of laygel foam and 10cm of supportive reflex foam. This combination together with the 7.5cm layegel topper supplied with this product reduce the possibility of overheating and make this a more appropriate product for people wishing to avoid the discomfort that the overheating may cause. The product in question is the Hybrid 4 and for your body weight would provide a medium feel.
