KS Zip & Link from Origins range versus an Artisan KS mattress
Hello there. I am a very light sleeper and am looking to buy the king-size mattress that best prevents the transmission of my husband’s movements across the mattress. I am 6ft and 10.5 stone, he is 6ft3 and 13 stones. I am prepared to spend up to £1700. I note that Zip and link mattresses are usually recommended either for access difficulties (which don’t apply to my ground-floor flat) or where the couple require different firmness. Though I note that you do mention in places that they can help restless sleepers too. What I’m wondering is whether it would be better, from the perspective of a very sensitive sleeper, to buy a zip and link king size from your Origins 1500 range or your Artisan 1500 range, or else to spend the money on the very best king mattress that I can afford from your range, perhaps the Artisan Naturals or the Artisan Luxury?

Transference between sleepers is something that can cause many sleepless nights. Pocket spring mattresses are far better than say an open coil or cage sprung mattress in reducing this.
However, to reduce it even further a zip and link mattress is the best option. It really does limit the movement considerably.
The primary differences between the Origins range and Artisan range are as follows:
- Origins mattresses are a mix of synthetic and natural fibres
- Origins use spun bond pocket springs
- Artisan mattresses are natural fibre mattresses
- Artisan use calico pocket springs and vanadium coated pocket springs (Artisan 1500 the exception, it uses spun bond)
- Artisan mattresses have a much greater guarantee and are far heavier than the origins range as they contain more fillings.
- Artisan range comes with either a soft, medium or firm spring tension option.
- Artisan range can come in split tensions
