HOW TO VERIFY ACCURACY OF SALES PITCH

Anonymous asked

I have been assured by a salesman that the Salus Viscool 4000 mattress is a better choice than the equivalent Tempur one because (a) the sleeper does not get overheated due to mattress releasing heat and (b) the mattress regains shape more quickly than the Tempur. Where can I go to verify this information, please?

Hi there,

I have viewed the description of the Salus product you refer to and and have established that although it has pocket springs, which the Tempur does not have, it does have a thick layer of memory foam on top of the springs.

As you are probably aware, memory foam is notorious for heat retention and usually requires body heat to function correctly.

I cannot see how the salesman can suggest that the Salus will keep you cooler when the main upholstery element is the same as Tempur, memory foam.

Likewise, the fact that is has springs does not mean that the product will return to shape any quicker than the equivalent Tempur product.

I would suggest that the salesperson hasn’t provided you with entirely accurate information.

I trust that this helps.

Kind Regards Gary
